Where To Buy BuJo Supplies In The Philippines

Yep. This mom blogger and bullet journal newbie is from the Philippines and I've yet to meet people in and out of my circle who are into bullet journaling. Follow me on Instagram if you happen to be a Pinay (mom or not) and you are into (or more importantly, if you want to learn more about) bullet journaling.

So, where do I buy bujo supplies in the Philippines? There are tons of places. I'm from Cebu and the only perfect place I know I can get complete supplies would be in National Bookstore, Ayala Cebu. But apart from that, there are many other places to get the bujo supplies, whether you need to visit a physical store or shop online.

Here are some of my suggested places to go to if you need to shop for bujo supplies in the Philippines.

Physical Stores

1. National Bookstore

It's the ultimate place for all your supplies. When it comes to beautiful markers and planners, it's got to be National Bookstore. However, not all branches of this nationwide-famous shop can offer a plethora of journaling supplies. For instance, NBS at SM Seaside, which happens to be a fairly new mall in Cebu doesn't really offer you many options.

The best NBS branch guaranteed to make you drool over color pens, markers, planners, craft supplies, and washi tapes would have to be Ayala Center. Another branch that you should definitely check out is the NBS at Robinsons Galleria.

Here are photos sent by my sister showing the eye-candy Victoria's Journals at NBS Robinsons Galleria Cebu. The store recently stocked on these beauties but I have yet to check them out.

Ahhh... eyecandy. drool.. drool...

2. Miniso & Yoyoso

These stores are also fairly new. Miniso opened in SM around 2017 while Yoyoso opened in January this year, replacing the Kaking store in Parkmall, Mandaue. Miniso is a Japanese store while Yoyoso is Korean.

I haven't been to both many times; I've only been to Miniso twice and Yoyoso once and I didn't have enough time to look around all their stuff. What I did find is that Miniso had cute planners and a lot of boxes of art supplies like crayons and markers. Yoyoso had them, too. These stores would be great to check out if you wish to buy affordable art supplies for bullet journaling.

3. Scribe

The ultimate place for those who are into planners, fountain pens and other materials for calligraphy. Scribe has got the prettiest merchandise for people like me who have an addiction to pens, markers, journals, what-not. BUT... I haven't bought a single thing from Scribe.

I guess I'm not that addicted to actually buy from them because the thing is, they're a bit pricey considering you can just find functional planners and pens at a much lower price. Maybe someday, I'll invest in those items... who knows.

Online Shops

1. Shopee & Lazada

These online shopping platforms got most of the things I needed to start my bullet journal. As a mom, I don't really go out that often. I'm like what my friend and I refer to as "domesticated." So, moms like us usually depend on online shopping. When it comes to bujo supplies in the Philippines, Shopee and Lazada are the best online shops to buy from.

You not only get pens, highlighters and notebooks but also craft supplies perfect for your bujo, like stencils and washi tapes.

The downsides to shopping online are that you don't really get to see the item up-close and you also have to pay for shipping fees. But if you really are lazy to get out or you just can't find time to be out, then online shopping for bujo supplies is the way to go.

Tip: I haven't found a dotted notebook on Lazada - not as much as there are in Shopee. It's in Shopee where I found the regular A5 dotted notebook, which only cost P100. Visit lily_pop_shop on Shopee to get your dotted notebooks. I'd just like to boost the shop because I'm really grateful for the very accomodating seller. And really, I was happy to have bought a great quality dotted notebook from this online seller.

2. Papemelroti

Papemelroti used to have a physical store in Cebu back in the 90s but they're no longer here. However, they have an online shop, which is all good. If you've been a fan of their products or maybe you've not heard about them but this is a great place to buy your journals. They use recycled paper for their notebooks, which is really cool. Not only that, they have this beautiful vintage theme to their paper products.

If you need dotted notebooks, though, you can't get it from Papemelroti ( I have confirmed this). Nevertheless, you can still buy beautiful notebooks from them because, after all, bullet journals are not just about having dotted or grid notebooks! Any notebook will be just fine.

3. Papernotes

For journals and notebooks, I recently found about Papernotes. They sell pretty journals with faux leather cover. And it's dotted. The best part is that each journal costs only P299. That's already very affordable for a stylish journal. You can visit their Facebook page or order from Lazada.

That's pretty much it. My personal list of shops to buy your bujo supplies in the Philippines? Do you have any more to add? Let me know in the comments below.

Starting A New Journey on Bullet Journaling

Ok. I get it. Bullet journaling is nothing new. I may be a bit behind the bandwagon since I found out about it only last year. When I did, I knew it was the perfect outlet for me.

I haven't been in touch with my creative self since college days. College pretty much drained me and I never had any inspiration. I was just living day to day and doing my thing making sure I'll finish school - which I did. And I never looked back.

What I didn't realize is that I lost a part of myself all those years. I was once the creative school during my elementary and high school days. Everyone turned to me or consulted me when it comes to making things creative. I forgot that I was that girl. I wrote songs. I wrote poetry. I drew.

Then I became a mom and everything else just got pushed way behind because our kid became my world. Along the way, I noticed that something's missing. I needed an outlet. It's like my creative self has been trying to get out all along. I wished I had developed my skills. If I had paid attention to my capabilities, maybe then I could be a better writer by now. Or that I can create killer designs. But I'm not that.

However, I still want to tap into my creative side. I stumbled upon bullet journaling in 2017 and so I purchased my first dotted planner. I didn't like the way I did things. I was still uninspired. I couldn't keep up with writing down whatever I need to write down. I also think that I can't do bullet journals because my routine is basically the same. Nothing interesting is going on in my life, I thought. So I dropped journaling and carried on with my life.

I'm a mother. What is there to bullet journal about, I wondered. But then the beauty about bujo is that there are no rules. You can just write whatever you want. Early on this year, I kept stumbling upon bullet journals either on Facebook or IG and then it inspired me again. It was fortunate that this inspiration came to me in the middle of January when it's still fresh in 2018.

I decided to buy a notebook. I couldn't find a decent dotted one. So I went for the blank notebook. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who gets inspired to write if the notebook is pretty, so I made sure I picked a pretty notebook. I'm also certain I'm not the only person who gets inspired when surrounded by pens and markers and what-not. So I bought a nice pen - nothing fancy, as long as it writes good and that it feels great with my grip.

I started bullet journal in the middle of January and it's going great. It's almost March now and the inspiration is stronger than ever. I hope to keep this going by writing about it. If I write about it, I'll be motivated even more to stick to the hobby.

I found bullet journal did help me keep my sh*t together at least. When you write it, you are more likely to do that task, so here I am.

I want to share this journey with all moms and everyone who wants to try out this system. This blog is about my personal journey and an outlet for my creativity. I also want to connect with people who are just like me, who enjoy stationery, pens, markers and writing. I'll also be sharing what I've learned about BuJo so join me on my journey!
